When I first met Dr. David Campt, working together to bring this project to Utah, I knew this was vital work. So, when he mentioned needing video capture in Portland, OR, that weekend, I volunteered to make the 12-hour drive myself. That began an extensive collaboration as we travelled across the country, preparing promotional materials for workshops and products. I was responsible for hiring local crew and collaborators, directing them to capture multiple angles and perspectives. I also managed transportation, equipment, and all other necessary aspects of production.
Dr. Campt and I built an entire video educational course together, constructed of footage from various workshops, breaking down his innovative RACE discussion technique into separate videos meant to guide the viewer through the thinking and practice they needed to have better conversations. I gathered and organized hundreds of hours of footage throughout the country, carefully going through and selecting the best parts for the course. These I edited, condensing complicated concepts from neuroscience, dialogue studies, and diversity, collected by Dr. Campt, into manageable, streamlined short videos, none more than 10 minutes. Finally, I did all post-production audio, effects, and color work to provide a professional package.
